Business & Life Meeting with God

I stumbled upon a YouTube video not to long ago about having a Business Meeting with God. And I’ve been doing this practice ever since, almost daily. It’s a perfect way to start my day in connection with His word and in prayer, allowing it to guide me towards what matters most.

While starting my day with God isn’t something new, I found that I became complacent in a world that is always connected. I was using my phone to read scripture, for work, my personal life, entertainment, and using chat as an assistant.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with these tools but allowing them to be resource to help vs relying on them which is what I noticed myself wanting to do. I want to scroll instead of getting things done around the house, I wanted to ask Chat to write, create, tell me what to do; so I didn’t have to think for myself. I was giving my power away to my phone and felt flustered that I was out of alignment and disconnected from the things I said I wanted.

I think we all want to feel in control for the most part. I think we think we are trusting the flow, letting God lead but in reality we are holding on so tight that God can’t.

I remember back in 2011 when I asked God boldly to help me get a new job and if HE did, that I would go and do whatever he called me to do. And I’ve lost sight of that over the years. It’s always in the back of my mind but how easy it is to say, “but God not that.”

I want to partner with God in my everyday life. I want to let HIM be the CEO of my life and business. It’s not about inviting him into or to bless what I’ve decided on without him.

You can watch the video here.

But the short of it is this … set a time at least 60 min for your first time. I have a bit more freedom in my mornings so I just allow myself to take as much time as I need and I stay open to what God lays on my heart.

  • Start with 10 min of Worship & Surrender - center/ground into this time with God

  • Then take 10 min to seek wisdom in scripture. I usually start by asking God’ if there is a topic I need to meditate on or  you can use chat to help you find Scripture about what you want to talk about if you are having trouble.

  • Next, spend 15 min of review business goals and challenges with God aka spill your guts.

  • After you’ve verbally dumped all the things, take 10 min to listen and journal - He knows what you love and he’ll show in in that place. Example if you like to run, he may lay something on your heart and mind during your run. Pray a quick little prayer … Lord, help me hear from you, meet the right people, what do you want to reveal to me or show me.

  • Now, take 10 min to get clear on practical steps. Dump it all out and then … Find ONE thing to start, ONE thing to stop, ONE place to trust HIM more.

  • Spend 5 Min in closing & prayer.

I’d love to hear from you, if there is anything you do to aligned your business and life goals with God’s. Or if you try this and love it as much as I do let me know.
