Monthly Reset: May Edition

Welcome to May! It's one of my favorite months. We're fully into spring, the garden is blooming, school’s winding down, and those warmer days that hint at summer are officially here. I don’t know that I’m craving deep rest right now, but I can feel my energy rising. It’s a shift out of the slowness of winter and into something that feels full of momentum. There’s vibrancy in the air again and I’m here for it.

What I’m Tracking

  • Health:

    • Daily steps, hydration, and supplements (B12, folate, omega-3, and a digestive enzyme). Nothing fancy—just the essentials that support how I want to feel.

    • Gentle movement. A little time on the vibration plate. Occasional strength workouts and walks when the weather allows.

  • Home:

    • Pulling back on over-scheduling. My calendar is getting a spring clean of its own.

    • Adjusting house rhythms to reflect longer days.

    • Meal planning with a seasonal shift lightening up our meals and starting to source more from the farmers market.

  • Business:

    • Building my website (we’re so close!)

    • Creating free printable resources library

    • Launching a 3-day business kickstart challenge

    • Continuing work for clients with a "done is better than perfect" mindset

What I’m Tweaking

  • My mornings:
Unrushed is the vibe. I’m waking up when Henry wakes (5:00 - 5:30 am currently) , having my coffee, and lingering a bit before diving into work. Some mornings it’s a verse of Scripture, others it's journaling or simply sitting in stillness.

  • My workflow:
I'm spending more screen time than usual, but that’s the season I’m in right now. I’ve got things to build, so I’m honoring that and trusting the rhythm will shift again soon.

  • Meal rhythms:
Embracing local produce and adjusting our grocery runs around what’s fresh at the farmers market each week.

What I’m Letting Go

  • Rigid schedules. I’ve found that when I lean into what inspires me in the moment, I’m far more productive.

  • Pressure to keep up with “the list.” I went two weeks without touching a blog post, and then over one weekend, I wrote several. It ebbs and flows.

  • Needing praise to feel worthy of progress. I’m working on untangling the belief that rest has to be earned.

Anchors This Month

  • Morning coffee (porch preferred, rain permitting)

  • Good music. I’ve been reconnecting with playlists I love.

  • Playing my guitar just for fun. I’ve only strummed a few chords, but it feels good.

  • Intentional work blocks with room for errands, naps, and life in between.

I’m just doing what fuels me right now. No endless checklists. No pressure to do everything. May is about flow, not force. And that feels really, really good.
